Election Day 2020: Restaurant Steals & Deals

CALIFORNIA — The only thing better than exercising your civic rights by casting your ballot on Election Day is getting rewarded to do so!

Several restaurants throughout the Golden State are offering freebies, BOGO deals or special menus on Election Day to patrons, who show their “I Voted” stickers or ballot stubs.

CANELA BISTRO BAR: The San Francisco eatery is offering an “Election Night Menu” for two. The $99 special includes two bottles of wine, herb-and-olive-oil labneh dip with veggies, two Spanish cheeses with accompaniments, veggie flatbread coca, fried chicken drummettes, fresh bread and a homemade apple tart. CHRONIC TACOS: Bring in your “I Voted” sticker on Election Day for a free combo upgrade with purchase of two-taco plate, burrito or bowl-rito. The deal is at participating restaurants. Locales here.

JIMMY JOHN’S: Score a BOGO deal when using “SAVEON2” promo code before placing orders online or via app. Buy one 8-inch or 16-inch sandwich, and get a second at half-price at participating shops. Offer applies through Nov. 8 for curbside pick-up or delivery. Location finder here for California.

KRISPY KREME: “Doughnuts and DOUGHmocracy!” Get one, free Original Glazed doughnut at participating sites Tuesday, Nov. 3. Shops also are giving away “I Voted” stickers, while supplies last. Info here.

McDONALD’S: Halloween treats are running over into Election Day with free Apple Fritters, Blueberry Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls available with coffee purchase at participating McDonald’s Nov. 3 through Nov. 9. Purchase a McCafé Premium Roast Coffee or Iced Coffee – any size, at any time of day on the McDonald’s App — to get the deal. Info here.

PIEOLOGY PIZZERIA: With a “You Vote, You Pie” promo, participating shops in California are offering an Election Day 2020 Bundle for $20.20 from Nov. 1-3. The deal includes two, 11-inch “‘Create Your Own” pizzas and a shareable dessert. Location finder here.

POPPY+ ROSE: In an election promo running through Nov. 3, the Los Angeles restaurant is offering voters with “I Voted” stickers, or proof of voting, 15% off their tabs. “#VOTETHENBRUNCH.” Read more here. The restaurant is at 765 Wall St. at the flower market.

RANDY’S DONUTS: The Inglewood location is giving away a free, glazed raised donut on Election Day to patrons who show their “I Voted” stickers. The offer is good while supplies last at the shop at 805 West Manchester Blvd.

RUBIO’S COASTAL GRILL: Patrons can enjoy $3 Langostino Lobster Tacos on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, after 2:30 p.m. at participating locales.
